Brooklyn Betts has received the honor of being named a Jr. WNBA Coach of the Year. The Jr. WNBA awarded this honor to only 32 out of 82,000 coaches across the USA this year.
Dwayne Smith the Director of the Chillicothe Ross County Police Athletic League nominated Brooklyn because of the success she has had with the PAL’s Lady Enforcers Basketball Program. Coach Betts not only coaches the young ladies on the ball court she also encourages them to take part in community service projects and to become positive role models to other youth in the community.

The PAL Enforcers finished 3-1 at the Cedarville Classic, losing by one point in the semifinals to the Dayton Metro. Great effort ladies–it’s not easy playing 4 games in one day.
The 6th grade Enforcers GBA record is now 10-3 and their overall 2008-2009 record stands at 27-4.

The 6th grade Enforcers suffered a tough overtime loss to the WCH Lions. The Enforcers led the first half 15-5, before giving up 28 points in the 2nd half. Alexis Overly sank two freethrows with 11 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. WCH prevailed, though, on a running layup. The 6th grade Enforcers GBA record is now 7-2 and their overall 2008-2009 record stands at 24-3. We’ve got some [defensive] improvements to make before Cedarville–we will never give up 28pts in the second half of a game again!! Together, you can make that happen! TOGETHER, we are a FORCE to be reckoned with!
The 5th grade Enforcers improved throughout the tourney, pulling out a victory in the final day. Here are Coach Hinty’s comments:
“My girls finished very strong today only giving up 6 points and we scored 2 of them for the other team. they realized today that they were up against some good competition and that they can play at that level they need to.They played great 2-2-1 and 1-3-1 and full court man to man in your face defense. They moved the ball around as a team today instead of individuals. They were spectacular from yesterday to today. Overall weekend was a great learning experience for my girls and myself, and one thing I can say is they never gave up on each other,no matter what happens.”

The 6th grade PAL Enforcers went 4-1 in the GBA Pickerington Classic last weekend. PAL was an impressive 4-0 upon entering the Championship game. The Enforcers used their fiesty defense to rattle opponents and run the fast break. PAL fell short in the final, though, to the Columbus Orange Crush, a team they defeated on Day 1 of the tourney. Great start to the spring season! –Go ENFORCERS!
